You can just get the AP and run their Stage 1 OTS map and either sell it used or keep it for a pro-tune later on. I just put Cobb's stage 1 OTS map on my 06 STi and it really felt a lot different. Power delivery was a lot smoother, torque peaks sooner, boost peaks sooner and tapers to red line better. And you can log your data, and send it into Cobb if you have any concerns about it.

edit: It is a pretty safe and reliable map, and it comes in a conveniently sized package. Check Nasioc, you can get them new for about 525 from the vendors. and around 400 used.

if you mod it, you should get a custom tune

if you plan on keeping it stock or within stage 1 bolt ons just go Cobb and resell later like hybrid said

:p If you want a better sounding exhaust, get the cat back. You generally don't need a tune for a cat back. If you want more power, with a better feeling power band, get the AP.

If you get a down pipe later on with a cat back, you will need a tune. Which is why I said get the AP. If you get a tune now, with no turbo back, you will need one later. (extra moneys). If you get the AP, you can use their stage 2 map when you get an exhaust later.

Your car looks identical to mine... I have the Cobb stage 1 kit on otherwise bone stock car, and it runs great.

Throw a Turboback on it and go stage 2! really nice jump in power! plan to do that with my cousins 09 WRX with a Cobb Accessport. makes it easy on him and its tuned for a variety of safety for him. be is looking at about 280awhp and 315ft lbs of tq with that from reading the dyno numbers over on NASIOC. i can only imagine what an Sti would bring the to the table

Good call on the AP, gets you several features a pro-tune doesn't.

with the access port you can have the tuner set you up with custom tunes and run the different maps for race gas, premium, meth at your finger tips

Silencers suck. We have one for the wife's car but its only used if her grandma is in the car. It noticeably affects the butt dyno in a bad way.

What does this do to your warranty?

It seems so easy to buy a COBB stage 2 package for $2300 and be at ~384hp and ~414ft.lbs.
