Sub T7300 for 5750

I'm contemplating subbing a T7300 in place of the original T5750 in my Toshiba P305 laptop. I looked up the two and noted that the 7300 has an 800 MHz FSB while the 5750 has a 667 MHz FSB.

Do we think this swap will work?

Google seems to suggest that all P305 variants are based on the Montevina platform... which means it should support the chips with an 800Mhz FSB. Run CPUz to figure out which chipset you have (I'm going to guess GM45). If it is indeed GM45, you're good to go, but I'd recommend you pick up a Penryn-based C2D.

Here's one of the spec sheets I found.

Everest says it has Intel Crestline-PM PM965 northbridge and Intel 82801 HBM ICH8-DO southbridge. Guessing from one post and from the note in Everest saying it does that I should be okay. When I had it in before it didn't start up and that threw me. Then I saw (while in reassembly) that the RAM wasn't seated properly. I'll try it again today. I have to take it at least partially apart to fix the touchpad cable.

BTW I'm choosing the T7300 only because I happen to have one on hand from a Dell I need to part out.
