Sub-par Memory Scores w/K7TPro2a

Ok everyone, I can't seem to figure out what's going on here so I figured I'd make a post about it. Essentially the situation is this: I just purchased the above motherboard along with a T-bird 1gig last week. Installed everything, booted up, all seems well. However, when running my sysoft memory scores I constantly range around 408/488. I've checked to be sure I'm running at 133mhz with 4-way interleave and all seems well (the memory itself is a 128mb stick of pc133 Infineon, and a 128mb stick of pc150 Kingston). However, for some reason I keep getting these less than flattering benchmark scores. Hell, I even have a friend who's running the same mobo with a memory clock of 100, and he's scoring better than I am. Any ideas of what the problem could be? I'll happily supply any additional info you might need about the system. Thanks in advance.

Yep, I'm using the latest BIOS I could find (v2.1) and have the timing set to auto. Noticed a huge decrease when I set it to manual and changed the speeds myself. Anything else you can think of that might be causing the problem?

try just one stick and see what you get.Maybe mixing the pc133 and pc150 is screwing up youre dram timing?

Tried removing each stick and testing them individually, and still got the exact same results. I'm really beginning to wonder what the problem is here, as my friend (mentioned above, running a Tbird 850mhz) just upgraded to pc133 ram and scores over 510/510...yet I'm still stuck at 408/488 with my pc133 and tbird 1gig. Any other suggestions?

I guess I'm wondering if your checking after a fresh boot and closing all your programs before you run your test. I'm runnng 2.1 now also and you should be getting a better score. Check my site and compare your bios settings to mine.

Yep, that's what has me so confused. My settings are the exact same as yours (except I've tried with the Fast R-W Turnaround enabled and disabled, but nothing gets my scores any higher than 410/488. The tests are run right after I boot, and I've even tried disabling my AV software before testing...nothing causes the scores to budge. Getting a bit concerned now, so please keep the suggestions coming. Thanks.

I get the same scores as you, around 400/480. But that is AFTER I removed my PC100 ram, so now I only have PC133 in it. I think those scores are pretty normal? I don't know how you can get up to the 500's.

Heh thanks Melo, at least now I don't feel so alone 🙂 Well the system seems to be working perfectly otherwise, and so I'll just leave things how they are. If I ever figure out anything that might be holding me back then I'll be sure to post it up for you. Thanks again for the input, everyone.

I have the same scores as you too. Around 408/490 ish. I have Sandra 2001 as well.
I thought is was because of my NCP memory at first, but I don't feel so alone now!
