Question Sub for 2.1 system recommendations

I have an onkyo txnr686 receiver paired with a pair of klipsch rp4000f floor standing speakers. They sound fantastic together and it is used for 2.0 music only currently. I don't know if I will ever hook it up to my tv as the place where my tv is at, is kinda cramped. There is a chance I will use it for tv watching in the future but I want a sub mainly for music. I listen to everything but mostly rock. I want a sub that is responsive for music purposes but could be used for movies as well. But definitely skewed towards music. I'd like to stay around $300 maybe $400 if it was an exceptional sub. Would the $100 polk sub be good enough? I'm kinda picky though as the klipsch sound fantastic and want the sub to keep up. Thanks in advance.

300-400 is not really exceptional range for a sub

you can get an svs pb1000 at the outlet for @450

Thanks guys but the svs was more than I wanted to spend. I went to best buy and saw the klipsch r100sw 10". Got them to price match Amazon for $253. I can't imagine needing any better than this sub. They match my rp4000f perfectly. Any more bass and it would drown out my speakers.
