Sub Box Size

Finally upgrading my sub setup from crappy pair of RF 10's to a single Infinity Perfect 12. This is the regular model, single voice coil. I'm feeding about 300 watts and plan on going with a sealed box. I've read that I want a 1 cubic ft. box. Does that sound right or should I go for a different size?

What kind of music do you listen to?

Recommendation from Adireaudio for sealed or vented DIY sub box under "Application Notes". Good luck.
He is using neither a Shiva nor a Tempest...

Ok, I'm glad I'm not the only one that was wondering why he posted that.

Anyhow, I listen more to rock/alternative. I had a sealed setup before and rather liked how it sounded; not very boomy.

I think I will just go with 1 cubic foot.

About 1.8 cubic feet will give you the flattest anechoic response. In your car, it should extend pretty low without any boominess.
