I just installed Blace Ice Defender like 6 hours ago, and I already had peeps trying to access my computer maliciously, curious how often this happens. What is Sub 7 exactly?

late.

I believe its something like Back Orifice, a trojan that allows people to do certain things to your machine. Don't worry about the scan, its probably just some hacker randomly scanning ips to find a person that has the trojan.

Yeah lots of portscanning goes on, also you might try zonealarm, I favored it over black ice.

Sub 7 is another Back Orfiice like trojan. Chances are they were just scanning thru IPs, looking for a vulnerable person. Although it is possible they knew you had Sub 7 server (the one that allows you to be snooped on) running in the past and they were coming back to mess with your computer. Chances are it's the former, although I'd get a virus scanner anyway if you have the time if you've downloaded anything suspicious or unknown.

Sub7 is a remote administration tool that is far superior to Back Orifice. When you get scanned you are usually part of a large block of ip addresses being scanned at one time. You will get a lot of other scans as well. Go to GRC.com and get probed and scanned to see if you have any vulnerabilities that Black Ice is not covering. I use Black Ice myself and have never had a problem with it.
