If you wanna go budget like this, a am2 mobo with x2 3600+ with ac64 pro is probably going to be cheaper. Any extra cash should be put towards a better videocard. DDR667 will also do btw.

You might be able to save a few bucks if you go with a retail cpu, since it will come with a heatsink and fan (only 7$ difference though). You also might get some savings if you wait til the 22nd and see if the intel price cuts give you another cheaper/better cpu option. Other than that, looks good to me. Good luck with the new rig

Going with an X2 3600+ would save about $7; DDR2 667 would save about $5; an AC 64 Pro is about $1 less; an AM2 motherboard would be about $10 less.

The $23 saved by going the AMD route would probably let me upgrade to a X1950Pro (which performs roughly the same as the X1950GT), but the loss in performance by going from Core 2 to AMD X2 would negate that. Unless I'm missing something.

I would spend a little extra on E4300 to get 2M of cache. Everything else looks fine, good build.

I would second the E4300 too. Definetely worth the extra money. At the very least get a AMD 3600 Brisbane and a AM2 mobo to overclock it.

The only thing i would worry about is that PSU, that video card require alot of power.
Not sure on the specs of that PSU, could try it out and see if it can handle it.
