I would look at the Fusion.
I went to a dealership and they had a 2011 stickered at $24350 but marked all the way down to $18450.
OTD, it was $20,200.
I was miffed because they added back a $500 incentive that they say I didn't qualify for.
I was in no rush to make a decision but a week later that car was sold.
Personally I think the Fusion is the best 4 door sedan of all mainstream mid-size(Optima is a close 2nd).
Ford has like $3000 customer cash back right now.

We have a 2010 Elantra and so far so good. Engine isn't the smoothest thing but in this price range they're all a little bit rough. I love the look of the new one but the wife didn't want to wait so we went with the 2010.
