hey guys,

can anyone recommend any alternatives to Onkyo TX-SR505 in the similar price range (sub 200 bucks). i don't mind hdmi pass through - problem with the sr505 is that it doens't pass through audio.

any help appreciated. :)

note - don't need crazy high end, and i can be SLIGHTLY flexible with price but not much.

context: want HTPC (hdmi / coax digital out), PS2 (optical out), cable box (RCA out) and dvd player (HDMI out) (dvd player not urgent, i'll probs get rid of it in favor of my htpc's dvd player which would get the coax output benefit) all to go into this receiver, which would do it's magic and output sound to my 5.1 speakers.

thanks in advance

Do you already have a decent receiver? If so, an HDMI switchbox may be a better choice since you don't care whether the receiver decodes HDMI audio.
