Sub-$200 (closer to $100) noise cancelling headphones?

Ride the subway a lot and find that I'm blasting my headphones to ear hurting levels lately. I hate the feel of IEMS so think noise cancelling headphones would work - suggestions?

Well, I don't know of any good active noise-cancelling headphones, but I would highly recommend the Sennheiser HD280s. They are epic in terms of noise-cancellation and go for about $80 new, and $50 used.
