does anybody know a Car CD Player (HU) with dual-line outs (front and rear RCAs) under $100 ? Looking for a reputable company (JVC, Alpine, etc.). Thanks :) The MP3 option isn't nearly as important as the dual line outs is.

The best deal I have found is the Pioneer 4600... it's like $169.

I still don't get why they're over $100.00. $150.00 is the same price they were over 2 years ago.

This site has a whole bunch.

All of the above have remotes and play MP3s and CDs and cost between $75 and $145. Most have detachable faces - I don't know about them in-depth because I only skimmed the listings. Out of the bunch, though, I'd take either the Panasonic for $139 or the Blaupunkt for $119, cause I don't know if I trust the other name brands...but some of them are very cheap. Good luck.

*Edit - Ah hell, it won't let me link to individual units. You'll have to go through the catalog. Your best bet (on that site) if you want a reputable name brand is the Panasonic for $139. That one has 3 sets of preouts, remote, MP3 capability, removable face, and a relatively solid name brand. There's also a Blaupunkt, but it has only one set of outputs, IIRC.

Or you could try looking into used units on Ebay, but that's kind of iffy.

Because we're still willing to pay the same price.

Hell, CDRWs, and even DVD players and recorders have been dropping steadily for years. You'd think somebody was retarded for paying what they did two years ago for those devices. Yet, nobody thinks twice about paying the same price for these head units. WTF?

Lots of pawn shop brands there. :) I need a reliable name brand detachable face player (no MP3) for my Dad. There's a Clarion on there for $89. Anyone seen better deals there or anywhere else?

I heard that a lot of the MP3 players do not save the progress in the song when you shut off your car. Sooo.... if you have a 20min. long song, and you are half way through, and you shut off your car, when you turn it back on, it starts back at the beginning.

I doubt this would bother me much, but a friend says that he hates his because of it.

Anyone know if the 4600 saves progress?
