StyleXP and SP1

Ok, got SP1 installed, life is good...........

However, now my styleXP skin doesn't work.

I remember that I had to replace the original UXTheme.dll with another to have them work right when I first started using skins.

The SP1 update has apparently changed UXTheme.dll to something that doesn't let my skin work.

Do I put the old UXTheme.dll back? Is there a new one for SP1? Is there something I haven't installed properly? etc....

Any help would be appreciated

Uninstall Style XP (1st change back to Windows XP theme) Download and install the full version 1.01 of Style XP from HERE. Style XP should see your themes directory (X:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes)

Thanks U-1

I did see on the TGTSoft site that they have a SP1 compatable version out now.

I am hoping they will offer a UXthemepatcher (freeware) for SP1 like they have for pre-SP1 WindowsXP. I really don't get enough good out of the styles to do the $20.00 per computer thingy.

I sent an e-mail to their support to see what they can tell me. I'll post here if I get any news.

I believe there is a sp1 compatible uxtheme.dll already out, Ive got it at home, havent tried it yet, send me an email @dbwillis@snet.net and Ill forward it over to you if you want

Thanks dbwillis I just sent off a note.....

I did get a reply from TGTSoft today:

We are planning to release a patch for uxtheme.dll to work with SP1. However, currently the only solution is to install Style XP v. 1.01L. (If you don't want to pay, you can still do a trial version in the meantime).
