Style XP screwed up everything!

I've had style xp on my pc for about a month, and I guess the trial ran out. Anyway, when I load windows, all the taskbars, windows, and dialogue boxes are displayed as black, and I cant see any words! What can I do to revert this back to a classic theme?

Try using System Restore to go back to before you installed it.

Tried it, but it even caused system restore to screw up and fail. I tried in safe mode too, nothing worked. Finally I just reformatted.

The same thing happened to me, and I had to reinstall Windows as well. The important part is that you learned a valuable lesson - don't screw with Windows system files unless you know exactly what you're doing. Garbage programs like Style XP or XP Blinds do nothing but ruin your system.

Never had a problem with Style XP myself on any computer. Style XP uses Windows built-in visual style engine anyway. It doesn't modify any Windows files.

you probably purchased it... I don't know what happened, but when the trial ran out, and Windows couldn't load the interface correctly, everything was displayed as black.

Yea I downloaded the trial and the same thing happened to me. Except it screwed up the bootup.ini or something, so there wasn't even a loading bar when turning on XP. I purchased it however, and never had that issue again.

Ah, that's true...I didn't let the trial run out. :thumbsup:
