Stuttering with Netflix streaming on iPhone 3gs

Lately my streaming has been stuttering almost to point of being unwatchable over wifi. Video will repeat 3 or 4 times when it first begins and then buffer for about 5 seconds for every 10-15 seconds of playback.

I'm not sure how fast my wifi really is (hotel) but if I tether my phone to my lap and watch it on that it plays smooth. I can watch a whole 2 hour movie without any stuttering.
