I'm using PS3 media server on the below system to stream video to my xbox 360, and am finding 720p mkv playback pretty shakey (video is constantly pausing and buffering). I'm using ethernet-over-powerline but the issue remains when I moved my xbox closer to my streamer and used direct ethernet.

Is it possible that my computer system just doesn't have what it takes to stream 720p mkvs? WMV-HD up to 1080p works flawlessly under the same scenario.

System specs:
amd be-something processor (low energy, dual core 1.9ghz)
4 gb ram
Windows 7

No additional codec packs installed (ffmpeg and halai only), I assure you that the issue isn't codec related :)

Who is your ISP and what kind of download speeds do you get?

Eithernet over powerline is generally slower then a WiFi connection. Not to mention the added noise on the line that can interupt the data flow. But you've already ruled that out as an issue.
