Stuttering Sound

I've been having a problem with my computer lately, where the sound stutters for just a second. It may not be just the sound, the whole computer might be hanging when it happens, but it goes so quickly that I wouldn't notice it at all if it weren't for the sound messing up.

I'm not sure what might be the cause of this. My computer was packed away for a month and a half (yes that was as painful as it sounds) and the only thing I changed was my USB configuration, I had a little difficulty getting XP to let me use my usb keyboard (I had to mess around and figure out which USB port I'd had it plugged into originally, then it was happy), and it also had trouble with my USB webcam.

My system:

Tyan Tiger MPX 2466N-4M
Dual MP 1800+
256MB Corsair Registered ECC
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
Adaptec 29160 SCSI card
SCSI Quantum Atlas 10KIII 73GB <= OS and apps run from here

IDE Western Digital 100GB <= MP3s located here

USB Microsoft Natural Keyboard
USB Intellimouse Explorer (connected to keyboard)
USB Dazzle SmartMedia card reader (connected to keyboard)
USB Epson Stylus CX3200
USB Philips ToUCam Pro

Any ideas?
It DOES get rather warm in my room, but I haven't really noticed a correlation between temperature and frequency of stutters.
