I use Power DVD mainly for DVD playback on my PC (see my systems below) - now on my "My Toy" system DVD playback is always stuttering for no apparent reason.
I have formatted a separate HD and installed Win ME on it and DVD playback is flawless - this is on the exact same system - only changing the Hard-drive and OS.
Win XP played DVD's perfectly beforehand - any ideas why (without changing anything AFAIK!) the playback is now compromised?
I've tried new graphics card drivers, latest Via drivers and installing and re-installing various software players for the DVD-ROM - all without any success in obtaining smooth playback.
I'm kinda stumped and almosty ready to simply go back to ME (which I find to be an excellent OS from M$) and dumping XP which apart from this particular issue with DVD playback has been generally stable (although I have never been impressed with it)
On a side note I was very happy with XP as an upgrade from ME - but not as a full installation following a format.
Any ideas?
