stuttering between game rooms F.E.A.R

I've been tweaking my pc and have it overclocked running smoothly. My only annoyance is that when i'm playing the f.e.a.r demo i get stuttering between different rooms. once in a scene the game is really smooth. I'm only running at a low resolution of 1024x768 too. Could it be related to not having 2gig of ram ? I noticed a massive difference in fear when i moved from 512 to 1gig. Other older games are totally smooth.

yes...texture on high means 2 gigs of ram

An extra GB RAM will help but the main reason the stuttering is there is because of your 256 MB card. Fear can use 400 MB video data at any given time which causes texture swapping on cards with less than 512 MB.

You can try reducing the texture details to improve things.
