What's yours?

I got one yesterday on the Fiero. Parked on a public street, in front of my apartments. Ticket reads: "PARKED - PRIVATE/PUBLIC PROPERTY FOR SALE SIGN"

The car had been there overnight. I drive it, so that's the longest it sets in one place.

Needless to say, the City of Anaheim is gonna hear the wrath of the shark! That's a load of crap.

Hmmm.. This was a while ago, the person put a ticket on my cousins car when she had 3 minutes left on the meter. She went to put more money in and there was a ticket.

Got pulled over once for bs reasons so the cop had to let me go. After that, I put my Rosary Beads (not very religious but they are a 'family heirloom' over 100 years old) on the rearview mirror and I haven't been stopped or ticketed in 8 months...

I owned a house in Ohio where it was illegal to park in the road between 4 and 6 am. I constantly got $20 tickets for parking in front of my own house overnight.
That law really pissed me off, and no one at city hall was ever able to explain the purpose of it.

I had (my wife drives it now) a 96 s-10 that's lowered, tonneau cover, tinted windows, etc. A year after I got it, I was driving in Irvine, CA on a Thurs eve after work and got pulled over for "vehicle inspection". Had to sit there for 30min while the cop with the vehicle height meter got there. It's a thing on a long stick that verifies the car/truck is over whatever the limit is (6" I think?)

The truck isn't that low, so no prob with the meter. Then the cops, pissed that I passed that test, started testing lights, door latches, seat belts, etc. No problems. Dorks had to let me go.

I got home and laughed for hours. I had two obvious issues they missed! I had expired tags (the new stickers were in the glovebox and I just hadn't put them on yet), and tinted front windows. Bwahahahahahahaha.

NOTE: I don't think all cops are a-holes. Most of 'em are pretty cool. But it always seems to be the a-holes who pull you over for bs reasons or hassle you. Guess that's what makes 'em a-holes. heh

dont you guys know anyone who is a cop??? You can get the lil FOP stickers for your window, they prevent 90% of tickets (if they are new and not ten years old)....I have had one on my rear window for 4 years now, and havent even got pulled over since I put that bad boy on

just ask any cop you see...or you can donate a couple bucks to the FOP to get one...I think thats how you are supposed to get them....I got mine from a buddy who is a cop

Ours wasnt necessarily a ticket.. but last weekend on a snow covered parking lot in an apt complex we mistakenly parked 1 spot to the left of the last visitors parking spot.. and i guess the person who owned that spot was a little PO'ed.. because when we came out we had a huge sticker across our windshield saying we had parked illegally, and next time we would be towed.. its a PITA to scrape off. And they put it right across the drivers side of the windshield so you HAVE to take it off immediately.

Here's my story of being molested by the ticket dictators.

I'm on my way to traffic court for a speeding ticket and end up parking a block away from the court house on a meter. Since I got there 45 minutes early I put a few coins in the meter and proceed to take a nap in my car, when I wake up I have a ticket on my car but I still have 2 minutes left on the meter. So naturally I'm pissed so I grab the ticket off the windshield and run around trying to find the metermaid who put the ticket on my car. After circling the block with no luck I go back to the car to find yet another ticket. So now I'm REALLY pissed, I leave the second ticket on the car and storm down to the court house to complain. I figure since the ticket is on the windshield they won't write another one. Boy was I wrong when I finally get back to the car I find out I have yet another ticket waiting next to the second one.

To make a long story short I ended up paying for at least one of the tickets but they dropped the other two.

I'm so tired of goin to the parkin authority and clearin up bogus tickets. I got a residential sticker yet still get a ticket at least once or twice every 2 weeks, got 3 one week.

Alternate side of street parklin on Mon and Tues. for the street sweeper gets me every now and then, $10 each time is insane

Got a ticket for parking my own Pick Up Truck on the street in Long Island New York on 1985. Back then Pick Up trucks were not allowed in Residential streets to be parked as they were considered Commercial Vehicles and can stop on a residential street for a delivery only.

I don't know if they still have or enforce this "Law".

I got a Cap and a rear seat and converted the Pick Up to a Suburban which was considered as the same as Station Wagon multi-passenger residential vehicle.

I live in Georgia now as everyone knows and can't imagine that they ever has such a "Law" here as probably the most Pick Ups sold in the world here, they call it Truckville here even.

My NY state police hat that sits in my back window has gotten me out of at least 2 tickets. The cop would see the hat on his way up to talk to me, and when they got to the window, "Sorry sir, have a good day, and keep that speed down."

I got one about a month ago. I was leaving my parents and realized I had a flat tire. So I turned back around and parked it facing the wrong way. You could clearly see the flat tire. This was on a Saturday night and when I went back Sunday to change the tire there was a ticket for $100 dollars!

I have not gotten one, but a co-worker got a ticket for their car that was sitting in their own driveway. The damn car was on blocks so the 57 T-bird was not even going anywhere (the owner was doing some brake and tranny work). The ticket: expired tags.:|:|:|

He was working on restoring the car for several years and moved it into his drive way because it had gotten warm ouside. I can not believe that a city can have an ordinance that allows tickets for expired tags when the vehicle is on you own property and obviously not being driven.:|:|
