Hello,

I just installed WinXP Pro on my new computer. One of the first things I did was set up Outlook express for my email (I got one email immeadiatly). Ever since, on the welcome screen, it says that I have 1 unread email, whether I have one or not. I even deleted my email profile for Outlook express. Does anyone know how to turn off this email notification feature on the welcome screen?
 
Go to control panel>user accounts and then click 'change the way users log on or off' and then un-check 'use the welcome screen'

Not exactly what you were looking for, but it gets the job done, heh.
 
I like to use the welcome screen, I have a profile for myself and my wife. I just want to remove the email notification (or at least have it work right).
