how do you make solid lines in word 03? like ------ but without the spaces?

Its for an attendance sheet for people to write their names above.

you can use the border feature and specify where the border should be(bottom for you) which would make a line.

honestly to tell you the truth i just copy and paste it from another document that already has a solid line, cuz I don't know how to do it. haha

Or, you could turn on the drawing toolbar and just draw some horizontal lines.

It is done , WELL, using tables.

Jsut create a table, and select only the bottom borders. That way you can actually type stuff in there without fiddling with the formatting and all to get your lines to stick

Yup, just hold down Shift + dash (right of the 0). There's also a menu that lets you create tab-stops that will create a line when you tab to that point. I think it's under the Format : Tabs... menu. Note that it's been a long time since I've used Word so I may be off (I use OpenOffice).
