Stupid Wireless Question...

OK so I got a new mouse for x-max a logitech VX, first wireless mouse I have ever owned. It is a 2.4 Ghz mouse transmitter USB stick and the mouse...pretty slick deal.

So I fire up BF2...play a couple of rounds, works great. Then all of the Sudden I get the following crap message.

"There is a problem with your connection"

The game lags out terribly. So I thought it might be the server, so I tried another server and got the same thing.

The wierd part about it, it was intermintent...

So my noob question is can a wireless mouse cause interference with your wireless internet connection...

It shouldn't. That is a fairly common problem with Battlefield 2 though. The best way to solve this is to eliminate variables. Try it with another mouse, then switch back and see if the symptoms resume.

I've had issues in the past with wireless mice and keyboards. It wouldn't cause the connection to drop out or anything but it did cause the connection strength my roommates saw to drop quite a bit. I'd try another mouse and see if your problems go away.

It can happen I believe. They are both on 2.4ghz after all.

That is what I was thinking...I was hoping that it might look on a different channel though if it found interference.

Also, the mouse I was using prior to this was corded and never had a problem playing BF2 on wireless. Except prior to the 1.4 patch with all the crap happening.

Since 1.4 I never have had problems.

Odd thing is it seemed to iron it self out and I didn't have any issues after I switched the transmitter to a different USB port.

THEN get this the stupid # 3 and #4 buttons that I use in the game just decided to STOP working. If it isn't one thing it is another 😀

Thanks for the replies

if it's a BlueTooth mouse / keyboard then the answer is yes

if it's just normal RF signal, then... usually it should not, and even if it does, you can always Switch Frequency, most mouse/keyboard has up to 10 different frequencies to choose from
