Stupid Wireless internet

The wireless isn't working in my house on both my computers. Not sure what the problem is. While plugged into the router I have no problems, except it does disconnect and reconnect once in a while.

The only thing I notice is that instead of an ip address of 192.168.1.xxx, as it should be, and as it is while plugged in, it is giving me: 169.254.18.109

Any help is much appreciated

You need to restart your wireless router.
Just pull the power connector, wait a few seconds and plug it back in.

BTW, the 169.254.18.109 address is one Windows generates when it can't get one from a DHCP server.

check the security settings, your computer will not get an IP if it doesn't have the correct wep/wpa key/psk.
