Stupid window pops up every time I log on.....XP

I bought a Visioneer scanner of a friend a few days ago. I installed the softare for it, and ever since then it brings up a window of the Visioneer folder every single time I log on now. No matter what user I log into windows with, it pops up. It's getting rather annoying. It does not open the program, or load a system tray icon or anything like that - it just opens the window. I've been all through the preferences in every application in the folder with no sign of anything that relates to anything opening at startup. I also can't find anything on the startup list in msconfig that even remotely coincides with the Visioneer folder.

Btw, I have Windows XP Pro

How do I get rid of this?

go to downloads.com and get startup cop. It's an easy program to use. That will kill it, but you also can kill lots of other stuff like windows messenger. It's totally flexible, it'll do only what you want it to.

Startup Cop worked perfectly. Thanks! I just don't understand why it doesn't show up in msconfig. The software is called OneTouchMonitor. Nothing in msconfig coincided with it, but when I opened Startup Cop it was right there on the list..."OneTouchMonitor". Grrrrr. It's stupid to have to download other programs for this type of thing. Anyway, thanks again...

Just some info I thought would be helpful to know... If you go into Task Manager (taskmgr in Run dialog, or Ctrl-Alt-Delete in XP), right click on a task and click "Go To Process" it will show you the name of the executable running. This way you would know the filename and could hopefully remove it in msconfig. That's how you would be able to go about it without downloading another program. Good to hear you got it fixed tho! 🙂
