I have to go buy the "Secret Santa" gift for work today, and am trying to find a 24 hour store. I know where there is a 24 hour Sav On, and 24 hour grocery stores, but WalMart has exactly what I need.

I need to go this morning because I had to wait to get paid today (I hate being broke), so I have to go before work. Sigh.

I'm in Anaheim, CA, and the nearest 24 hour WalMart is in Hemet.

I'm not driving to Hemet at 4am. :(

What'a Secret Santa gift worth? $5? You coudln't find that in your couch or car or skipped a lunch one day and bought the thing in advance. No whining here because you can't plan ahead.... ;)

No, our Secret Santa stuff is a 4 week leadup. We do small gifts throughout the month prior. I spent all my available funds on that stuff, knowing I would have to go early in the morning.

I ended up at Wallgreen's. Got some cool schtuff. A little over the $20 limit, but so what. ;)

I think thats the problem in most urban areas. What is the OP trying to buy? Perhaps we could help.

Um, did you get direct deposit? Just curious why you would get paid at 3am in the morning and not at a normal hour?

Yep. Direct Deposit.

I ended up buying a handheld football game (anybody remember "Electronic Football" from the 80's? It's been re-released!), a Nerf football, and a coffee mug. All at Walgreens. :D
