We went to this nice restaurant on the gulf tonight and it was screwed up by our idiot waiter.

Fiancee orders chicken primavera
30 mins later, shrimp primavera is delivered to the table.
We tell the waiter about it and ask for refills. He says nothing, picks up the plate, and walks away.
30 mins later, he arrives again, saying nothing puts the chicken primavera on the table and walks away.
Mind you our drinks were empty for approx 45 mins at this point, and he didnt seem to notice nor care and seemed to forget we asked him 30 mins ago when he brought the wrong food out.
Bill comes, he charged us for the Shrimp Primavera. Lovely.
I subtract out how much i should have paid ($6 lless) and tip based on that price.

Maybe if he figures out his mistake on the bill he will get a tip, if not screw em.

Anyone else hate it when a good night goes awry by crappy service?

It sounds like you sat there like a bump on a log when you should have raised hell with the manager. Waiters can have bad days or even be crappy waiters, but you have the right to be treated like the most important person in the world while dining at a restaurant.

-1 for the waiter.
-1 for you for not raising hell.

Agree with HappyPuppy. If you'd said something to the manager, you likely would have gotten great treatment and your entire meal, or at least your companion's meal comped.

You still tipped him?! There's no way that man deserves a tip.

If anything, as soon as I saw the shrimp on the bill, I would have had another waiter bring you to the manager and raise hell. The waiter probably would have left skidmarks on his way out of the place.

Why did you tip at all? It's because of that he continues to work.

Considering the waiter ruined your night and you still tipped him w/ out talking to a manager, I'd say you deserve pity IMO aphex 🙁

Yeah, and especially since your fiancee was there. You definitely should have done something.
