Well that's what Trump says.

"President Macron of France has just suggested that Europe build its own military in order to protect itself from the U.S., China and Russia. Very insulting, but perhaps Europe should first pay its fair share of NATO, which the U.S. subsidizes greatly!"

Ummmm. Hey. Orange shit bag. You’ve spent three years implying Europe and other allies might have to go it alone. So yes they need to protect themselves from what is feared would be your inaction. Their current defence strategy relies on the support of the US and thanks to you they don’t know if they have it any longer.

This seems like the right way to mark the 100 year anniversary of the end of WWI.

I thought he fixed those NATO welchers already? He's still on about them spending their money the way they see fit?

That we don't have a president that is ready to show how "flexible" he is to other world leaders.

Absolutely outstanding idea. The EU should have it's own military.

Fuck yeah.

Now we find a way to sink their autonomous subs, move some nukes in place and then we out spend them. Again.

Does he understand how NATO spending works?

Don't bother answering.

In related news Trump has decided to sit on his fat ass in a hotel room in Paris rather than go as scheduled out to the WWI commemorations outside Paris including Belleau Wood . He's cited poor weather for the helo trip but the sites are easily drivable...especially say if you know the goddamned President of France.

Also French media reports that when meeting the presidents of Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia he started blaming their nations for the war in the Balkans....

So when you undermine mutual defense treaties your allies decide to abandon you.

Gee, who could have guessed.

It would be relatively inexpensive compared to the US as Europe isn't interested in invasion as is done in Iraq. Go the nuke route with enhanced radiation weapons AKA Neutron bombs won't that be lovely

I swear he is terrified his hair will get wet. That is the only explanation any more for his behavior when it rains.

Sounds about right. Europeans need to remove our military of course as we are a potential enemy. How weird is that?

Also habitually avoiding the cold realities of the office he infests.

Edit: Saw some video of Macron and Merkel doing the ceremony and the fucking sun is out. Our petulant child president is sitting in a room stroking off to Hannity re-runs.

Well, more military is definitely a bad thing, not super hot on the idea of a heavily militarized Europe, considering the last time Europe had standing armies 50 million people died.

And like a Chekov's Gun, I doubt Europe is going to pour tons of money and resource into a massive army and then... Just sorta sit around with it.

France recently demonstrated that they do have interventionalist tendencies during the Libyan Civil War... They just don't have the hardware to do what they want to do and have to scale down in a huge way.

Bad news all around if this comes to fruition.

And somehow my opinion of him has gone down. Which is pretty impressive considering how low it was to begin with.

Napoleon Macaroon is the greatest General in history. He will lead Le Grande Armee to victory over the Trump Empire.

To be fair to Trump, I'm pretty sure there are multiple examples of Bush doing this (mixing up two countries while talking to their leaders).
Was it while he was ridiculing them for something they had nothing to do with? Can you find an example like that?
