Stupid thunderstorms taking out my power

Was sittin here 2.5 hours ago eating pizza and watching tv when the power went out. Flicked back on about 30 seconds later, then went back off for 2.5 hours. Let me tell you something. When you're home alone without power at night time, there is nothing to do! I just sat on the couch and watched the candles flicker for about 75 minutes before I got too bored and called my mom and talked to her for an hour. She had to hang up because she has to be at work in the morning. Called a friend and talked for a few more minutes until the power came back.


I LOVE YOU COMPUTER!!! DO NOT LEAVE ME AGAIN!!!!

Thunderstorms = powersurges

Be careful.. I used to say "ha, what's the chance?" when looked at power surge protectors..

about 5 months ago, a lightning hit about 300-400yards away from my home. and it fried my modem.. thank god it didn't fuk up the whole system.

I still don't have a surge protector but I'll try not to use my pc when it's thundering..

My mom's computer has had a fried modem a year or two ago. And just last month my grandma's modem got fried by a storm. It happened right when she was cancelling AOL and starting up AT&T and then switching back to AOL, so she blamed her "ruined" computer on AT&T being after her. I thought it was freaking hilarious to hear her say that.
