What kinda terminolog or just plain annoying reoccurances get to you at work? When I say I am going to fire someone, they want to cal it "terminate." Writing someone up is "coaching." Our corporate office is "Home Office." I give a d@mn about using any oof the corporate lingo. When someone pisses me off, I say "Get to work or you won't have a job tomorrow!" I have a hard time waking up at the start of the day, and people ask me on a daily basis why I looked pissed. I always wear my chill face then get pissed when they ask me that. I'd just like to add that our main server is a POS. I have to do manual backups on it 3 to 4 times a week cuz the automatic daily backup fails. It's a Dell Dual Xeon 2 Megger that's less than a year old. Search for my thread about my Xeons and notice the guy who told me to get a Dell. That'll be a cold day in h3ll. Also, the office with all the servers in it (9) is so friggin loud because of all the fans in the computers that I can't even hear the phone ring I am sitting less than 10 feet from. I like to hear stories about stupid stuff at work so bring it on.

We have 9 Dell servers here, and they are great. I have not so nice thoughts about our DLT tape drives, though. Those things need to be beaten. One of them is constantly requiring cleaning, the other grinds if you put in a tape it didnt format.

We have 2 office buildings right next to each other, and whenever we see people form the other building come into ours, we always ask them why they are "slumming" today. :)

It pops up on every client computer when the backup fails. Everyone bugs me asking when I am going to change the tapes. Also, I have finally witnessed a BADLY burnt monitor. The server's monitor has been on 24/7 for the last 7 years. Imagine that!

lol
The big thing here is telling everyone to "Stay focused!"
I don't understand it...but neither does anyone else.
