Stupid Taxes - Finally done

Okay, so I just finished my taxes. I came up with me owing them $566. Then...when I called in the telefile thing, they said that I only owed them $25.
My question would have to be, do students have special tax benefits? Why did I not have to pay them the whole $566 like I computed beforehand? Or is it just because I made such a small amount of money?

Damn. I just got my checks back about two weeks ago. $222 from the fed and $53 from the wonderful state of Indiana.

I get $64 from Indiana.
After two weeks in the year, I claim exemptions on all taxes so that I get to keep it all in my bank account. I get more with interest that way.
