Stupid Stupid Algebra Question.....

My Mind just went blank and the simplest thing there is I can't do. Help me out!!!

3z-5+5z-47+3 = 180
3z-5+5z-44 = 180
3z+5z-49 = 180
8z-49 = 180

Now what do I do?? See, I am dumb.

Is is +49 to both sides and 131/8?? Thats prolly it, but I want to make sure. This x-mas break made me loose all my math info.

yeah, that's how you do it.

however, you made a mistake.

you do add 49 to both sides. BUT 180 + 49 = 229. 131 is 180 - 49. so z = 229/8, as opposed to 131/8
