I'm not a ridiculous 'anti-corporate' guy

I lub starbucks. They are overpriced - yes. But it is a great place to meet chicks



Downside -

triple expresso - 1 (sometimes 2) a day - ~$2.20 a piece

x ~20 days a month (only go before/lunch/after work)

~$50 a month just on coffee. That adds up - $600 a year - bleh.


What do you get at starbucks?
 
Something exotic, but fairly low-price. I never get plain coffee from starbucks. I do, however, get spiced chai very often. sooo good.
 
Venti white chocolate moha with whip cream

$4.35 (no tax) in Los Angeles. It was more like $5.80 in NYC (they charge tax).

I was getting it a few times a week, but now I've cut back to maybe once a week. Expensive and fattening.
 
We did the same math some time ago, and now I only go about once a week, the rest of the time we make lattes or espresso at home with good quality beans.

Edit: And is it just me, or has their quality and consistency gone way down now that most stores use superauto's instead of their Cimball grinders and Le Marzoca machines?

I bought some water there last Saturday at one of the rest breaks on a 50+ mile bike ride. That's the first time I've been in a Starbucks in probably a year or so.

Maybe people just think they suck. I don't avoid McDonalds because I'm anti-corporate, I avoid it because they sell crap. Ditto Starbucks.

 
um just to point out.... I don't go for the coffee... although even if I was, a good expresso machine is $$

I usually get white chocolate mocha or caramel frappucino.
