I have an idle EverQuest account that I want to cancel. It's costing me $10 a month and I'm not playing it. So, I search and search on their website, looking for a "how do I cancel my account" thing, finally find it, and it tells me I have to log into the game, click account, then etc etc. Well, EQ won't let me log into it until I install DirectX 8.1 . Now I have to download a freakin 11.5 meg file on a 56k just to cancel my EQ account.
Now, what kinda idiot at Sony decided it was a good idea to make users log into the game to cancel their account? That way, if the game stops working, or isn't compatible with their new system or something, they're screwed. Also, you have to wait like 2 hrs for it to download all the patches and updates before you can cancel your account. It's moronic to require people to download and install additional software, just to be able to cancel an account! Why can't they just let you do it from their website? God, it pisses me off. :|
