So the first game I connect every time. Second game I strike out 4 times in a row. I mean, come on! This is softball.

I havnt played in 4 years so Im rusty, but i dont understand how I could swing 7 times and miss it every time.

Any ideas?

Is striking out in softball even possible? :D

You're just rusty - get 'em back next game.

You're probably swinging too hard and not watching the ball. Just make contact.

After your impressive feat, I hope you bought your team a round :)

can you tell if you're way ahead of the ball or just missing above or below it?

sometimes if the pitch is slow enough you can end up way ahead. do you find you hit a lot of balls foul?

Try playing a version of the game where you get only one swing. However, the pitcher is on your side.

A couple less :beer:s before the game?

You are probably swinging too hard. Just put your weight on your back leg, and concentrate on just making contact. A good line drive to the outfield is always better than a hard hit that gets caught near the fence.

after playing softball for 2 years, i still don't understand how people strike out. you just lack some hand eye coordination and should hit the cages. heck i play in a league where there is a no arc limit and our pitcher lobs in the air 20 ft high and he's had about 10 strikeouts in his 2 year career, so strikeouts are a rarity.

If you were on the team that I play on that would mean you'd owe 4 team pitchers of beer after the game. Use that as motivation.

Im not sure where Im missing, and it is slow pitch.

Like I said, in the 4 years I played, 4 years ago, I had maybe 1 or two strikeouts total.
