So I recently purchased:
- Intel865PERL motherboard
- 2 X 256 MB Corsair PC3200 DDR 400 Dual Channel
- Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz
When I try to install a fresh copy of Windows 2000 Professional it goes to the "blue-screen" setup fine and loads, but when it goes to the part when "Beginning Windows 2000 setup" (where it begins to go to the part where YOU need to setup) it reboots by itself. I checked into the BIOS settings and everything seems to be in working order. P4 is running under 30C, and it reads all the hardware correctly. I'm using 400 watts to power that sucker... so it should be sufficient.
I'm thinking that it's the motherboard's BIOS or the hardware itself, but before assuming that what else do I have to check out? I've already updated the BIOS, but same results. Any BIOS settings that I should specifically look out for? GOD I HATE THESE LITTLE SETBACKS! :|
