stupid raid question

😱Ummmm, how come the instructions that came with the raid card, (a tiny little ppiece of paper) have jumpers listed on it. Do I have to change the jumpers on my MB?

What Model is the RAID Controller card (make, mfg)?
What Model Motherboard is it?
What OS do you plan on using it with?

raid controller is DI/O Flex Ultra ATA/133 model PIR133
motherboard is mach speed
i'm going to have to use it with xp to get the all in wonder card to operate😱🙂

I think you can Disregard the jumpers listed on the install sheet.

Is this going to be used on a FRESH INSTALL of XP?

If so, are you going to BOOT off the RAID Controller?
If you do boot off the controller, remember to Setup your RAID Array (F3 @boot) first
and then load the Driver for the card (F6) when XP prompts @beginning of install.

this is an entirely new system. dvd burner, dvd, cd, zip, floppy, all in wonder 85 and 160G hd . i have the full version of windows 98 so all i got was the upgrade. why would i boot off the raid? don't i have to do the motherboard then windows,xp and install the items 1 by 1? I got patition magic to do the hd. do i have to have the hd on the raid or can i use it for all the extras? i've never had so many items before, thats why i got a raid, the dvd burner can't be shared. I am getting ready to turn this thing on tomorrow, when i get all my books, installation cd and my sanity together.
