Stupid question

Just bought a new MSI KT6 Delta MB and went to install into my case ( a three year old gateway 2000 original) ATX form factor. Never had a problem with it before but obviously technology has caught up with it as the IO connectors on the boarddont match the holes on the case i.e. Serial ports, Parallel ports etc. Now an IO template has been included in the box that obviously will fit it but on a quick inspection it does not appear that I can remove the old one from the case, how can I tell?.
If I buy a new case, say Chieftec, can I then replace the IO template on that with the one I have or will there be any need to, is this a new ATX layout? that is now standard.

Thanks for ur help.

Those plates are removable if you buy a case... it's not really a change in ATX... just the phasing out of serial connectors since its rarely used... and more USB/Firewire connectivity. Perhaps you can just make a cutout of the same size you can put the plate in on your Gateway case if you want to save money. :)

yeah if you really can't take it out then you will have to just cut out the old one and pop in the new one.
