Stupid Question: What would happen if Europe declared war on the US

The US Army has an entire Division based in Europe. The US Airforce has TWO divisions, one in Germany and the other in Turkey. The US Navy has and Entire fleet, with at least one carrier group, based out of Italy. There are at least 2 more Carrier groups in striking distance from the Gulf. And in the northern seas youve got US nuclear subs just chillin in total stealth, ready with enough missiles to wipe out the entire continent. Lets not forget there are US Marines in EVERY European country at any given time. Oh and theres a massive number of bombers, troops, and supplies in range from US airbases bases in Djibouti, Africa. And I would bet the CIA is entangled within anything remotely military going on in EU. How many EU military personnel are in North America? probably none, besides the guys at Embassys

A war of US vs EU would be like kicking someone while they were down. As soon as EU would try to mobilize, the US would just kick them again, and yawn.

and supplies in range from US airbases bases in Djibouti, Africa.

I think the French have a military presence in Djibouti -- not the US (I could be wrong)

dont you think that most of those would be fairly easy to take over when they are outnumbered becaues they are in enemy territory?

yes, there is at least a small Marine detachment, in EVERY country in Europe, this im sure of. (this is true of 90+% of the countries in the world)

And yes, there is a massive US military involvement in Djibouti, one of the companies from my Battalion is there right now pulling perimeter security.
 
If europe attacked the US on our grounds, europe would lose. I didn't read any of the other posts, because i didn't have the time, but Europe would get rocked. They wouldn't dare land on american soil, they would get destroyed. on the other hand, if we were in europe in a ground war, that would be a tough call, but USA ALL THE WAY!!!

Europe would get dominated in the air as well.

I agree it is a stupid question. lol. nice topic though. tIme to send in the delta force to get saddam

with what? some of these bases have as many US military in the country as the sovergn country does. not to mention they are hella better equiped.

umm... yes, there are marines in every european country. not more than a handful in some but they are there.

Any place that we have an Embassy, we have Marines. Not enough to do more than defend the embassy, but they are present.

I think US = ~12K, RU = ~20K
Of course thats stockpile, not actual deliverable on moments notice..

edit:
here US is winning a bit as far as amount deliverable, but russia has almost twice as much in stockpile..

Money isn't everything. It's all about determination. You can count all your nukes etc... But we all saw what happened to the Americans in Vietnam or to the Russians in Afghanistan.
 
If the EU were to become one Government with a standing army and if they ramped up their Military Industrial Complex to support a war against us I think they'd kick our ass. Of course the EU would have to include Great Britain. Without the Brits, even if they had the Russians in collusion, I don't think they'd be able to win. Of course win lose or draw the outcome would be catastrophic
 
Of course the European States would all have to agree and that will never happen.... especially with France involved.
