STUPID QUESTION: What is the difference between cores, and how can you find out?

As the title states. Please help me, I'm rather new at this oc'ing thing.

In a TBird, the Blueish tint on the core means it's a copper one made in Dresden (Germany?), so it usually overclocks better. The green cores are made from aluminum (In Austion, TX), and dont overclock as good.
