Does NL subs mean they are hard coded and unable to be removed?
Or they that they can be removed?

I always thought that it was "Netherlands"/Dutch subs. I might be wrong. I don't think they are hard-coded unless specified.

Play it, if your player can turn them off they probably can be removed, if you can't turn them off you may not be able to remove them.

Even better open it with DVD shrink. They list what extra tracks can be removed. I've never bothered removing subtitles since they take up so little space.

Thats exactly what i planned on doing, i just wanted to know if i could remove them before grabbing one labeled NL SUBS first.

I always try removing subs and foreign languages first to see if i can keep the extras and still get high quality.
If not i just re-author and do just the main movie.

But i cant stand it when subs are hard coded and cant be removed.

So can anyone actually answer the original question as to what 'NL Subs' means? Someone said they "thought" that it may mean "Netherlands"/Dutch subs" but is anyone absolutely sure??
