The manual doesn't say what jumpers I need to short, and the battery is stuck in way too right to get out :( Could someone explain what jumpers to short?

Thank you!

now i can't remember exactly, but i believe very close to the battery you should see the CMOS clearing jumper position. you won't see the jumper coz' asus doesn't put them in, but you can use a flat-head screwdriver and short them to clear the bios. make sure the power cable is unhook first

Download the program clrcmos.com. It will clear the cmos on any bootable pc. This program is probably why Asus did away with the jumper and just left the solder points. No need to crack the case, remove the battery or short anything. Download the program to a bootable floppy system disk. Set bios to boot a: first. Boot from floppy and execute the program. After cmos has been cleared, remove floppy, power off then on. download here http://www.unicore.com/techsupport/award/awardutils.htmclrcmos link

Woah! I didn't know about that program. Does it work? I've been using a wire to short the solder points.

I don't plug it for no reason. Works every time. Should probably have it's own thread titled "clear cmos must read." Try it, you'll like it.
