Stupid Question: Does Sears do "layaway" on sale items?

Sears has a sale on a compressor/ratchet/hose/sprayer combo. I want to get it, but refuse to charge it. I'm trying SSOOOOOOO hard to not charge anything. I will have the total amount needed to purchase it for cash in a couple of weeks, but the sale will be over by then.

Will they let me put it on layaway with say, a 50% deposit and pay the rest later? I'd call and ask, but you know I'll get Jill Teenybopper Summerhire who wont' have a clue about policy.

I'm pretty sure if you can't, they say so somewhere in the ad, or on the Sale sign.

i thought they did lay-a-ways.

but i could be wrong.

why not just charge it... if you're going to have money in couple of weeks?
doesn't your credit card have grace period?
