stupid question: can all socket 940's support every 940 opteron?

I don't know opterons very well and I have in my possession a supermicro h8dae.

according to wikipedia,

there are several opteron families-

sledgehammer, 130nm
troy, e4, 90nm
italy, E6, 90nm

can someone point me in the right direction? i'm used to intel - where its easy to find out according to chipset. :|

That particular board should support every generation of Opteron 2xx since it claims support for DDR400. You may or may not need a bio update for the E6s but I doubt it.
