Stupid Question: Are NO-CD patches illegal?

NO-CD as in you want to run the game w/o the CD in your drive. Playing with CD in drive = longer load time :thumbsdown:

YUP. The Digital Millenium Copyright Act is so far reaching that any attempt to thwart copy protection (and anything itself used in that process) is illegal. The obvious consequences of this ridiculous law is to outlaw computers themselves. 🙂

i really wish the patriot act and the DMCA would get shot down.

In the off-chance that you do get "caught", if you show them a proof of purchase, like the box or a receipt, "they'll" leave you alone.

The DMCA pretty much says that if we do anything that the program doesn't tell us to is illegal.

if you bought the game and own the cd, i dont see why they would care if its being scratched up in your drive or if its gather dust on a shelf.

yes they are both illegal, but not really, so use whatever one you feel is easier, i used no cd cracks cause i dont like them takeing up so much HD space
