Stupid Question about Outlook

Does anyone know how to export Microsoft Outlook (not Express) inboxes and outboxes. It seems really simple, but I can't figure it out, I want to reinstall Windows, but I can't without losing my emails. Thanks.

Go to File->Import and Export, then choose Export to a File, then choose Personal Folder File (.pst). Now choose the folders(subfolders) you want exported, or choose the top of the tree to have everything exported. Then choose the location of the file and you now have one file that contains EVERYTHING from your Outlook installation, this includes messages, notes, contacts, calender information, etc..

This is from my Outlook 2000 installation, BTW. If you're using an earlier version the steps should be similar. If all else fails, you can always look into the Help->Contents and look for "exporting"..Regards

Hey, no question is a dumb question. You can create a backup to restore after you re-install windows.

Go to File
Import and Export
Select Export to a file
Select Personal Folder File (.pst)
Select the folder you want to Export
Select where you wasnt it to be saved and what you want the file called.
You can copy this file to a cd if you have a writer or to floppies.
When you restore your system you do the reverse.
Select Import and Export
Select Import from another file or program
Select Personal File Folder (.pst)
Browse to the folder location
and finish.
