This is a sentence This is a sentenceThis is a sentenceThis is a sentenceThis is a sentence
(!)This is a sentence

What I want:
This is a sentence This is a sentenceThis is a sentenceThis is a sentenceThis is a sentence
__This is a sentence

I want to make a space at the (!) in MS word, but I can't. The cursor doesn't move when I press space. Anyone know how to fix this?

The problem is that you pressed "insert" and are typing over your own words.

EDIT: Tab?

Did you use a line break to get the (!) to the next line, or did you insert a bunch of spaces? If you used a bunch of spaces, additional spaces you add will just jump to the prior line.

Use the |P (paragraph) mark to make the formatting show, take a screenshot and post it.

Sorry this is kinda hard to explain....
Ok do this:
1) Open up word
2) type a sentence long enough that it spills over to the 2nd line.
3) try to put a space at the start of the 2nd line, you can't

AH.

Use the "Enter" key to make a line break at the place you want the sentence to split. It won't make the page look any different to you. Then insert your extra space and it will show up.

This is a sentence This is a sentenceThis is a sentenceThis is a sentenceThis is a sentence [ENTER]
[DOUBLE SPACE]This is a sentence
