This is absolutely silly, and i apoligize for anyone's time i may have wasted. Is there a special cable needed to hookup to an Intel 510t switch on the console port. Could a regular DB9F to DB9F do the trick, or is there a specific wire crossing for the console port? i have tried to look on google, and ebay, and i have been unable to locate information or cables for this. I purchased this a few months back from a great guy on these forums, and i just wanted to play around with the management portion now. In the manual it just states console cable. It doesn't specify anything in particular. When i try ebay it mostly just comes up with CISCO Rollover console cables, i assumed these were a unique cable just for cisco switches.

If you have any information you could provide, possibly sell me one?, or just want to laugh at me please feel free to pm me. I am quite patient and tolerable, so i doubt anyone can bug me.

Thanks for your time,
Mark

Intel® Express 500 Series Switches - Installation

Cable for the Console Port
If you connect a PC (via the Console Port), then use a null-modem cable.

It looks pretty straight-forward to me. It doesn't seem like you would need a special Intel-branded cable for this. If you're still worried, why not contact the seller for some additional information?

Hmm i didn't see that page before. In the regular manual they didn't specify null-modem cable, Thanks a lot for the trouble you went through!
