Stupid question about AGP and new motherboards

Do newer motherboards (for instance MSI K7T-PRO2A) use a different kind of AGP slot as opposed to older ones (for instance ABIT BH6)?

Click here for a picture to see what I'm talking about.

I'm not sure if an older AGP video card that I have will work as a temporary solution until the buy.com GeForce2 GTS's are back in stock. Will both of those video cards fit into the K7T's AGP slot? I think it looks different than my BH6's AGP slot.

Thanks.

I'm not sure but I think my new motherboard (asus a7v) has a bigger slot than my old one. My Geforce 2 Ultra fit into the slot without using the extra bit of it, so I'm guessing it's for future video cards.

There's 2 kinds of AGP slots.

1. AGP
2. AGP Pro

The AGP Pro slot is a little larger than the regular AGP slot. AGP Pro slots are commonly used on newer Asus motherboard. Since AGP Pro isn't widely accepted by the video card manufacturers, it hasn't been implemented into any video cards yet. According to Asus, AGP Pro is basically used to supply additional power to the video card as needed.
The MSI K7T Pro2A uses a standard AGP slot, but it has a retention clip on the back.

PCComp... watch with the NO video cards, the 64MB Asus V6600 SDR used AGP Pro.
FYI, pretty much all the new Asus boards have AGP Pro (backward compatible to 4x, 2x, 1x) slots, as do a couple of MSI (including the 850Pro), Intel and Gigabyte boards. From my recollection no Abit boards have Pro... only 4x.
Also, just expanding, AGP Pro is a backward compatible slot which supplies the additional power that power-hungry Vidcards need.
