stupid question about a cell phone...

when i try to listen to my messages, my phone dials it's own number. then it takes me to the message saying "leave a message after the tone", then it beeps, where i can then leave myself a message. what do i need to do to hear my messages?

when it dials your number hit the pound key then it should ask for a password.

Which one worked for you?

Dialing codes above like *whatever work but a lot of times they won't work if you're outside your area code, in that case you'd have to dial your own phone number and when the voicemail picks up you'd have to hit either * or #
