Here's the deal:Yesterday I reloaded Windows - no problem. Today, I installed a hard drive. No problem until after it got recognized, then Windows restarted itself. When Windows booted back up, it restarted itself again, and again, and again.... Well, I try booting from floppy, but now the motherboard doesn't recognize the floppy drive. Then it was suggested to me to disconnect all drives and boot fro there. That didn't work. To top all this off, my BIOS setup is pass protected and I don't know what the pass is. So my brillinat friend suggest I remove the battery to reset the pass. Without thinking, I did, now there is no BIOS on my motherboard. So basically, I'm screwed. Questions:
1)Cna I reload BIOS, if so how?
2)I do have access to a network, so someone else can help me if need be, do I and how do I utilize that?

Thanks

removing a battery doesn't kill your bios. Why didn't you just use the bios reset jumper?
What did you do in the first place, hook up the hard drive with the cable backwards or something?

THIS IS ME NOW. i let the friend with the probs post first

No it was hooked up right the first time. he got windows to recognize teh drive.i dont think he ever got it formatted. then randomally at the Win 2K login screen it would reboot. never getting past that point. so i suggested he go into the bios and change teh first boot device to CD and format it that way. but he forgot hes pass. moron. so i s uggested resetting the bios. by removeing that Bat. ive done this before and had no probs. now hes sayin it dosent work at all

O and before i suggested takeing out the Battery. he said it would turn on and not even go into the bios. thats when i said take all the drive off and see if that worked
